FAQ

Q: I don't have a job/income. Can I use my parents' bank certificate?

Yes. You need: PSA birth certificate + parents' bank certificate + Affidavit of Support signed by parents.

Q: Which bank should I get the certificate from?

Any commercial bank (BDO, BPI, Metrobank, etc.) is acceptable. Cooperative Banks and Rural Banks are not accepted.

Q: What's the difference between visa validity and stay period?

Validity is the date by which you must enter China. Stay period is how many days you can remain in China per entry. Example: A single-entry visa valid 3 months with 30-day stay means you must enter within 3 months, then can stay 30 days.

Q: If rejected, will I get a refund?

No. Visa fees are non-refundable regardless of approval. Prepare documents thoroughly before applying.

Q: Can I use a travel agency?

Yes. Agencies typically charge additional service fees (PHP 1,000–2,000) but will check if your documents are complete.

Getting a Chinese visa as a Filipino is more complex than for Americans—you need bank certificates, financial documents, and first-time applicants can't use express processing. But if you prepare complete documents, ensure your bank balance meets the requirement, and follow the process, approval rates are high. Start preparing at least 4 weeks before departure.
